Hey Gals!
So.....here goes. *blank* Hahaha, I have *none* of the sharp wit I had yesterday, so this one'll probably be bland in comparison. :P oh well! It's great to see so many 'coming out of the woodwork' as Melissa said! :) Well, things could get interesting here today- it smells like an electrical fire or something all over our bldg- and we have a LARGE bldg..... no fire alarms have gone off, but still you wonder if something's getting ready to go. I tried to 'Rick Alert' everyone here yesterday, but (as noted above and my post below....) my post didn't 'take'. He was reporting on the relationship trapezoid of the NJ governor. He was on FNL in the morning (around 6 my time- PST) and again on Fox Report that I saw; I'm sure he was on more. Hopefully ya'll got to see him at some point. We haven't watched much of the Olympics- just the opening ceremonies - I'm more of a winter Olympics gal than a summer. I love gymnastics, but haven't caught any of it.
I had an opportunity to see my teenage years idols Duran Duran the other day, but work and a meeting kept me from going. A coworker of mine went and she saw them from 20 feet away and got some pix- they were doing a radio bit just 4 short blocks (and our city blocks are *short*) away. 20 years ago, I wouldn't have paused a nanosecond. Funny how things change. Even more funny is that I've gone from ogling Duran Duran to ogling Fox News reporters (well, a couple of them....;) )
Melissa- Great to see you posting!! Hope you had a great time in NY despite the fall from the horse (glad your back's doing better!) and not seeing Rick. Ozzfest sounded great- too bad you missed the earlier bands; but sounds like you had a good time all the same. OMG girlie, your site's *awesome*!! I still have to delve into it more, but what I could check out here at work was great!! You go, girl! :))
Sherry- How are you?! Long time no see! Glad to see you posting too! Glad you love your job- it really makes it all worthwhile when you enjoy what you're doing. That's great about Curves, too- it's like what my mother in law calls a "two-fer". It's a shame that unions wreak havoc.....such a pain. I thought it was time for a change (with my 'name')- it was time to move on. I've changed it on blogger (including my own blog -it's gone from Guinnevere's Corner to Nathalie's Nook), but still need to decide what to do with my livejournal and MSN id. I don't get to either of those much.
Jan- We've missed you here too! Glad to see you posting! I tell ya, about that picture- I'm *so* glad I checked the mail that day & not the hubby. All that time we thought it was 'lost in the mail'.....it was, um...lost on a shelf. LOL! I just think it's so funny. It was funny, 'cause I debated a couple of days whether or not to send an email to thank/ask why he sent a 2nd- the curiosity was just killing me because it was just out of the blue. The first thing he wrote on the email was "oops" I laughed when I saw that, but then felt guilty 'cause I didn't want to make him guilty about it. So hopefully I didn't do that as it wasn't my intention. Sorry to hear about your insurance problems- I learned that there's a lot of weird little hitches to homeowner's insurance from those insurance classes I took for the broker's exam & stuff. Hopefully things are better for you with Allstate. I'm sorry to hear of the CAT drama going on there - but like you suggested, maybe you'll get a Fox hottie there - if not Rick, Jeff Goldblatt, perhaps? I wonder if you had the same problem I had with posting- your post showed up 3 times, and this morning I had 8 blank posts (presumably from trying to figure out where my post went.....) How frustrating, huh!
Teri- Now where are you, LOL! :) Hope you're doing well with getting the kids to school. The sweatpants thing was funny ('don't boys sweat?')! That's weird that it'd be so hard to find boys sweatpants.
OK- gotta get to work. Hopefully this one posts, or you'll be reading about me in the papers. (j/k!!) Take care everyone!
