"You may overcome work troubles today and arrive at a better understanding with an executive."- OK- this is part of today's horoscope. I started to post last night and couldn't finish, so I saved my post somewhere else 'cause I didn't want to lose what I'd said and yet I wasn't finished.....make any sense? So....here's where I began last night. (Believe me, the above part of my horoscope will make more sense when you read what happened yesterday.):
Another day of almost *seriously* quitting that job.....I completely spilled my guts (frustration) to my manager & supervisor & underwriter & trainee (course the trainee kinda took it in the butt too). There's a chick there who *everyone* knows has a sorry-ass attitude a lot of the time. I'm feeling lately that she is questioning how I'm doing things & whatnot- I'm at that point, where I really want to say "back OFF, and if you don't approve of my training of S., then YOU do it!" But I'm a good girl.....I held it in. I'm doing the best I can and yet I can't make *anyone* happy. I'm just so frustrated. And I told thele people this today. Poor S. got a heap o'attitude from this other chick too; but she's strong and won't put up with it. She was like "WHATEVER!"- LOL. Good for her! It was ok by the time I left, but I'm just tired of the crap. I've never dumped onto my sup. or mgr. - I almost always "go along to get along" but I'm tired of pushing myself and yet not getting anywhere while having people ride my butt all day. **WHEW** Glad to get that off my chest....... that's why I haven't posted till now- I didn't get a lunch really- just a 20 min. break. Not tomorrow! ;-D
Jen- About sending your stuff in- I ironically found a quote yesterday while going through my old mags (I'm a *wee* bit behind LOL). There was a quote from Melissa Bank who wrote "The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing". For those of you who haven't read/seen it, it's a collection of short fiction- I think with the same character though, but not in a completely running story- just bits & pieces (I believe, I have have it- but of course haven't read it yet). Anyway, she said, "It's a great thing to be rejected, it means you were brave enough to take a risk." It really struck me, because I have a fear of being rejected too- but this put it in perspective for me. Maybe you'll consider sending them in at some point- I'll bet you got some great stuff! :-D Wow- that's awesome that you can speak four languages- you must have a talent for that too! You inspire me. Makes me want to pick up German again- or something else. Languages have always interested me, but I just haven't had the attention span to really stick to it. I remember Charles Nelson Reily! You sound like you have a good plan set up for your upcoming semesters! I hope you didn't Oompa Loompa......sounds like you had a frustrating day yesterday too.....I think it's one of those weeks. July *will* get better- it just *has* to......
Jayel- how funny! You're right- poor Rick- they never seem to get his jokes- Shep does, though! "unless it's pre-empted by something else"- OMG girl, are you psychic or what?? Wouldn't you know yet *another* car chase in LA pre-empted my seeing Rick.....oh well! Thanks for putting the conversation here though, I was LMAO and kicking myself at the same time for not taping today....that just *had* to be a riot. It sounds very reminiscent of their late night war volleys. I like the thought of flags & ribbons. We have a flag on the back of our boat that we leave there all the time. The heartbreaking yet pride-ful thing was that after 9-11, we saw a few masts that had flags hanging from the rigging. Needless to say, since that day I have a *very* different view and feeling everytime I see our Old Glory.
Melissa- Ya know, it's too bad all us gals don't live closer- I'd say a happy hour is in order here! Like I mentioned above to Jen, it's just been one of those weeks. Night/weekend jobs are great for going to school- I've never done it, but that's how my hubby's daughter did it- and somehow (???) she was able to get through school in 4 years doing just that. I have *no* idea how....but then again, I'm more of an early evening person, unless I have to get up at 4:45 (which I do M-F) then I don't make it up so late- hence why ya'll see me posting so early & never late......Fridays I'm out by 9 or 10- occasionally I make it up to midnight or one if I can't sleep. I was curious about the posting of images too- thanks for the FYI. I thought that may be how you were doing it, I've tried on my own blog (but not hard enough) and figured it was a HTML kind of code that has to be entered. I thought Blogger Pro was around- maybe not for the upgrade they recently did, though, huh? I comtemplated upgrading to that for mine too- still undecided. I *did* get my river rafting 8x10's (3 of them) from the broker that we went with- IF *IF* my Rick pic comes today (oh please oh please oh please....) then I will scan them and email the Rick one to you and either email one of the river pics or put them up on my personal site. Hmmm.... I think I'll put the Rick one there too (Yeah, can you believe I'm *ONLY* thinking of that idea now? I'm sure to everyone else, it's like "well, DUH!" LOL). Two of the three I got from the broker are the same- they made one for my hubby too, which is cool, 'cause then I can have here & one at home. LOL- your "Rick Radar" was working better than mine yesterday!! That's ok about wanting to cuss out your mom's boss out.....I know the feeling and have another hole in my tongue from yesterday from holding it in...... Jan's posted pic is so sweet!!! Now I'm really really excited about getting mine....I've *NEVER* looked forward to getting mail at work till now- LMAO.
Leslie- But we *LOVE* your postings about Mr. Smith! For all we say here, I know for certain that there are *WAY* wacked out people out there- we're NORMAL! :-) Your OUR Master Hussy! In our opinions, you kick ass and you *are* the best, and don't you ever forget it! OMG- Leslie- that's great that they nominated you!! *big grin* Governor Leslie! You'd be sure to make sure that the Great State of Texas would *NEVER* become liberalized! *ABSOLUTELY* go for it!!!! That would be awesome, and it is completely awesome that you've been nominated for mayor! Like I tell Jen, the sky's the limit! Or is that outdated now? Should it be the universe is the limit?
Jan- you poor thing- hope you're hanging in there through the storms! Glad you're finally getting a break from them. Yeah, I feel bad for the sausage too.....girl, you're brave! That's cool that you got to meet Chubby Checker. I'm trying to remember which one Brigette Quinn is.....I'm sure I've seen her. ROADTRIP!! I'd be up for it but I can't get any time off this month & I'd have to get to where you are first.... ;-p Oh no, permanently crossed fingers....that sounds so bad, huh! Is it *really* nearing two months since I first asked for that pic?? LOL- I'm not sure if that other one will ever materialize- for all we know it may still be buried on 'the desk'.
Here's something funny from F&F this morning (BTW Greg was on twice- once that I saw during F&F & then at the beginning of FN Live). James Rosen was talking about the elephant thing (now *that* was hysterical- Pres. Bush on a wildlife tour & coming across an elephant herd with two of them mating.....they had this on Special Report last night too- Tony Snow's expression was a classic. I wasn't sure what they were looking at (didn't have my contacts in) and then I realized and I was severely ROFLMAO). Anyway, then Rosen points out this swarm of insects and says "that's Brian Kilmeade's fan club- they all want signed pictures" OMG- again, I was ROFLMAO. What would have been *REALLY* funny is if he'd said "That's Rick Leventhal's fan club...."
OK- I REALLY have to get to work. I'll chat with ya'll a bit later.
