Hi Gals!! I made it and I *absolutely loved* it!! I'd do it again in a heartbeat. The trip was broken into three pieces- the first one I was in back (felt safer there), after lunch I moved to the middle, and not long before we got to "Satan's Cesspool" I was-yes- right in front!! It was *awesome*. I was also in front at "Hospital Bar" where they take your picture (you can also get one at Satan's Cesspool, but the guy was asleep and just reached for his camera when we came through. Our second boat prolly got on his camera though. The second group lost one out of there boat at SC, but she got back in alright and wasn't shaken by it. I came *this* close to not going, told myself no, I'm going to do this. The boonie came loose a couple of times but survived the trip- very wet at the end, but pulled through great. I now know why they use those boonies- it was comfy & kept the sun out of my face. No regrets!! It was sooooo much more fun yesterday than today!
So many posts to read!! I prolly won't comment on them all, but will definitely read 'em all!
PU- nada. In fact, we had 4 measely pieces of mail between yesterday and today. They're slacking there at the PO, I just know it.
Leslie, it's funny you brought up the Deliverance thing- yesterday we were going through one of the slow parts and one of the brokers said something about the Deliverance theme (you know, the "dueling banjos"- LOL. Wow.....a phrase from my past....Bogarting (fill in the blank). I forget where that came from now.....As usual, you have me ROTFLMAO with the "Fox Breaking News" item! :D Girl, you crack me up! Maybe I'll try the Nads- I've seen the ads, it looks like it's easier to use than the old stuff. NikeyPox & the blisters showing up as little swooshes....LMAO!!
Teri- I know you won't read this for awhile- hope the move goes great! Check in on us when you're able to again!! :D
Melissa- I'm not sure what happened, but I don't think you did anything wrong by emailing Greg. I have a "sneaky suspicion"- which I will either email you about it or try to catch you on AIM; I don't want to post it. I'm sorry though that someone (whomever it was) did that- that was *not* cool. I second what Sherry said: we have a great group here, and we have *you* to thank for all the fun since you started this blog & the fansite! :D About the waxing, I only tried it once and decided it wasn't for me- the pain factor wasn't worth it (but then, this was 16 years ago, so it may have improved since then-lol!).
Sherry & Melissa- I think we're all on the same page.....and I think I will leave it at that for now. Suffice it to say that I *truly know* what you mean.....Melissa- I wouldn't take it personally, but if you read what I did, I felt the *same* way and I almost have to say it was like someone punching me in the gut. I was just like, "how mean!" I dunno.....but I think we may have read the same thing and took it similarly. I'm really glad too that we can post and talk here about whatever we want to too! :D
Lynne- sounds like you've been *very busy* - hope things go smoother for you now! Christmas Story is definitely a classic & a ritual every year around our place & at my dad's- his favorite (and thus mine) is the part when the lug nuts go flying in the air & Ralphie goes "oooooohhhhh fuuuuuuudge.....only I didn't say fudge"- LOL! I think we're going to have to add that one to the DVD collection this year!
